Not sure what you’re worth? Chris explains the difference between hiring someone with experience VS someone just starting out. How much are your services worth? Are you charging enough? Are you charging too much? How do you adjust rates to suit your clients needs and when it’s time to move up to the next level.

Ep 2-13 - Chris & Bob Ramble. In memory of Pucker. -:- answersforfreelancers@gmail.com [42:20m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download
OK. So, we’re back on schedule, right? We think so. We’ll see.
Anyhow, in this episode of Answers for Freelancers we talk about a bunch of things beside Chris’ new pink office.
Chris is scheduled to attend Podcamp Boston 2 on October 26-28, 2007 at the Boston Expo Center. For more information on the event, including who’s attending, what discussions are going to be had and how you can participate, go to http://podcampboston.org Also, Chris (and Bob if he can make it) are going to be chairing a couple of sessions. The first is a recap of how to decide what you need to charge and the second is a panel of freelancers that will just answer audience questions about what its like to freelance. If you want these discussions to happen, write to the organizers and tell them to make sure that we’re scheduled.
Bob puts out the official call for the A4F Intern Search. We should put up a page for that, shouldn’t we? This is for actual college internship credit. And its not limited to artists, either. If you feel that you can contribute to the show in a meaningful way, either as on the show or behind the scenes, try out!
Ever have that sinking feeling like you’ve made a bad decision… one that might end up costing you both time and money? Do you listen to your gut or do you just shrug it off. Could be your instincts are trying to tell you something. In this episode Chris and Bob talk about trusting your gut.
Episode 11 - Deadlines: Keeping the Trains on Time -:- answersforfreelancers@gmail.com [25:50m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download
Whether you are freelancing or employed, no doubt deadlines are part and parcel to your life. When you’re working for someone else, deadlines can be important, and missing them can have dire consequences. When you’re working for yourself, however, missing deadlines can destroy your business, leave you clientless, and kill your ability to find more work (or even a new job).
On the other hand, deadlines can be the fuel to keep your business running on time, keeping projects from being delayed, and keeping even the toughest clients happy with your results.
Episode 9 - Answers for Non-Freelancers? A Follow-up Discussion of our Interview with Michael Gerber, the E-Myth man -:- answersforfreelancers@gmail.com [43:25m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download
In episode 8, we interviewed renowned business guru Michael Gerber, who had some very interesting thoughts on the very nature and business viability of freelancing. Michael’s remarks sparked some heated debates between Ken, Bob and Chris. So much so, that even before posting Michael’s interview, we knew we were going to have to follow it up with a discussion of our own on the subject. Are we actually telling you to stop freelancing? Yes! No! Maybe? Listen in and tell us what you think.
Episode 4 - Where Does the Time Go? -:- answersforfreelancers@gmail.com [42:18m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download
“When you work from home, you’re always at work.” The very freedom we gain as freelance artists can easily become the shackles that keep us working all day and all night, robbing us of our sleep, our family time and our sanity. How do we overcome this?
Episode 2 - It's a Small (Online) World. -:- answersforfreelancers@gmail.com [34:05m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download
Today’s freelance market is largely an online market. While you can still find work the old fashioned way, if you don’t have an online portfolio, you are at a serious disadvantage.
Proud fathers of a PodCast. We present you with our premiere episode introducing the crew and having fun along the way. Also, listen in for Chris’ tale of woe in the first installment of “Wheel of Misfortune”.
